*Technically, the laydown collar shirt was the first formal shirt. It was quickly replaced by the wing collar shirt. Up till the year 2000, wing collar shirts had been the shirt of choice. Consumer demand changed dramatically and the laydown collar is now the shirt of choice. No matter which style you choose (banded collar shirts, wing or laydown) it will look and feel great.

The many styles of tuxedo and formal shirts include, lay-down collar, wing tipped collar and banded collar. Tux shirt colors include white, off white, cream, tan, black, yellow, red, grey, teal, green, blue and custom colors. This all depends on the manufacturer. Any color tuxedo shirt is usually made of 100% polyester or 100% Microfiber. White shirts are available in 100% cotton, poly / cotton blend and 100% polyester. Real French Cuff formal shirts are almost always found on 100% cotton shirts while blended and polyester shirts usually have barrel cuffs. All formal tuxedo shirts accommodate studs and cufflinks unless noted.
